PANEL 5: I didn't want to be too funny or cute in this story, as I didn't want to undermine the tone of my ending. One of the ways I avoided that problem was to populate my backgrounds with original (if simplistic) character designs; the temptation to just stick a bunch of cameos in there is always strong. So the crowds contain only original characters... apart from Y Signal from the Streets of Rage series, who somehow sneaked in and is dancing like a loon just above the page number.
