PANEL 1: A visual reference to Charles Vess' cover to Web of Spider-Man #1.
PANEL 2: This guy's got elements in his costume from both Kraven and Puma, both members of the Spider-Man rogues' gallery.
PANEL 3: This intelligent octopus with cybernetic humanoid limbs is an inversion of classic Spidey villain Doctor Octopus.
PANEL 4: The chap on the left edge is The Elk, a nod to Rhino, another Spider-Man villain. In the foreground are Rob and Perception in their Psi-Squad days, and there's Spiral in the background behind Arachnid. I put Perception in there because her relation to Miss Scarlet (still unresolved when I wrote the script) is one of the central mysteries of the series. There's no other significance to her appearance.
